چکیده

Lattices with a unique essential element are investigated. It is shown that, a compactly generated lattice with a unique essential element different from the top element, and with finite Goldie dimension has finite length. Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary 06C15, secondary 16P20

Ideal Lattices of Lattices

This paper shows that any compactly generated lattice is a subdirect product of subdirectly irreducible lattices which are complete and upper continuous. An example of a compactly generated lattice which cannot be subdirectly decomposed into subdirectly irreducible compactly generated lattices is given. In the case of an ideal lattice of a lattice L, the decomposition into subdirectly irreducib...

Distributive lattices with strong endomorphism kernel property as direct sums

Unbounded distributive lattices which have strong endomorphism kernel property (SEKP) introduced by Blyth and Silva in [3] were fully characterized in [11] using Priestley duality (see Theorem  2.8}). We shall determine the structure of special elements (which are introduced after  Theorem 2.8 under the name strong elements) and show that these lattices can be considered as a direct product of ...

Efficient lattice representation and generation

In large-vocabulary, multi-pass speech recognition systems, it is desirable to generate word lattices incorporating a large number of hypotheses while keeping the lattice sizes small. We describe two new techniques for reducing word lattice sizes without eliminating hypotheses. The first technique is an algorithm to reduce the size of non-deterministic bigram word lattices. The algorithm iterat...

Affine Geometry: a Lattice Characterization

Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a lattice L to be the lattice of flats of an affine space of arbitrary (possibly infinite) dimension. 1. Incidence spaces and Hilbert lattices. By an incidence space [Gl], we mean a system of points, lines, and planes satisfying Hilbert's Axioms of Incidence [Verknüpfung] [HI] as follows: (11) Any two distinct points determine a unique line. (12...

Closure operators on sets and algebraic lattices

Closure operators are abundant in mathematics; here are a few examples. Given an algebraic structure, such as group, ring, field, lattice, vector space, etc., taking the substructure generated by a set, i.e., the least substructure which includes that set, is a closure operator. Given a binary relation, taking the relation with certain properties, such as reflexive, transitive, equivalence, etc...
